Negotiating a Pay Rise
Before negotiating a pay rise you need to be fully prepared before discussing anything with your manager. You should think about why you feel that you deserve a pay rise and how you are going to present your thoughts to your manager in a positive way.
When you prepare for negotiating a pay rise you should look at your previous appraisals in order to prove that you have met objectives that have been set. You should be prepared to look at your weaknesses as your manager will focus on these.
In order to receive a pay rise you may be expected to take on extra responsibility or duties. When negotiating a pay rise you should think about how much money you want but be aware that everyone would like to be paid more but you should set out reasons as to why you deserve the money.
